National Small Business Week is coming to an end and we’ve been highlighting small businesses in our community all week long. Today, let’s get to know Prototek!

This family-owned business has been manufacturing underground locating equipment for over 25 years and are known for their innovative products. Prototek is based in Poulsbo, WA, on the Kitsap Peninsula just west of Seattle. Their products boast superior performance, technology, ease of use, and durability to meet your needs. Plus, all of their equipment is manufactured in the U.S. Prototek’s aim is to engineer products that help increase accuracy and efficiency on the job site, whether that involves pumping septic tanks, locating electrical lines, or anything in between.

“National Small Business Week highlights the contributions of small businesses to the economy,” said Meghan Smith, Vice President at Prototek. “These businesses play a crucial role in creating jobs, driving economic growth, and providing unique services tailored to local communities. We are proud to be a member of the downtown Poulsbo community (please note that we do not have a walk-in storefront).”

At Kitsap Credit Union, we always aim to support our small business members like Prototek, “We are very happy with our decision to switch to Kitsap Credit Union,” said Meghan. “The online banking platform is very user-friendly and we have had a great experience with our account representatives. It’s reassuring to know that if we ever encounter any issues, we can always reach out to someone who is knowledgeable and willing to help us resolve the problem. We highly recommend KCU. As a family-owned business, we value relationships with our customers. We believe KCU reflects these same values.”

As we wrap up National Small Business Week, it’s important to keep shopping local in mind. The best way to support small businesses during National Small Business Week is to support them all year long!
