In honor of National Businesswomen’s Week, we’re excited to highlight Rediscovered U, PLLC, owned by Teri Scott, ARNP, a dedicated entrepreneur and a valued member of Kitsap Credit Union. As a Kitsap native and seasoned nurse practitioner with 20 years of experience, Teri has carved out a unique space in the medical aesthetics industry.
Founded in 2016, Rediscovered U offers a range of medical aesthetic treatments designed to enhance natural beauty. Offering services including neurotoxin, filler, medical grade skin care, lasers and wellness such as bio identical hormone optimization, Teri ensures that her clients feel confident and radiant when they leave their appointment. With locations in Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island, convenience is key for her patients.
What Sets Undiscovered U Apart
What truly distinguishes Rediscovered U from others in the community is Teri’s commitment to personalized care. “Because I grew up in this community and still call it home, I focus on quality and personalized care rather than numbers,” she said. “My business growth has been organic, with new patients coming because of their friends recommendations rather than advertising.”
Each treatment begins with a conversation where Teri listens to her clients’ goals and educates them about the process. “We (my clients and I) are a team, the goal for our services is to leave radiant, not to artificially stand out!”
The Experience of Being a Small Business Owner
Being a small business in Kitsap County feels like being part of a close-knit community. “It’s a big, little county,” Teri said. “Everyone is connected. Having a solid reputation keeps you on the map.” This sense of community drives her passion for supporting other local businesses, highlighting the importance of preserving the unique charm that mom-and-pop shops bring to the area.
The Importance of National Businesswomen’s Week
For Teri, National Businesswomen’s Week is a moment of pride. Her journey to becoming a business owner has been anything but traditional. “My pathway to nursing was unorthodox. I first became a diesel mechanic in the U.S. Air Force to pay for my nursing education,” she shared. “I always anticipated that I would work within an organized medical structure— but when the chance arose to highlight my personal injection skills and operate my own company, I took a great leap of faith that I could be successful in my own right.”
Reflecting on her journey, she said, “I didn’t do everything right the first time, but I persevered and earned my success despite speed-bumps along the way. Women absolutely have the capacity to succeed in business, no matter the hurdles. I am quite proud to be considered a business woman.”
A Trusted Partner in Kitsap Credit Union
When it came time to start her business, Teri turned to Kitsap Credit Union, where she had already built a personal banking relationship. “The staff have always been professional and personable,” she said. “When I needed an equipment loan, they made the process a breeze.”
When asked if she would recommend Kitsap Credit Union to other’s Teri said, “Absolutely no question, I would totally recommend KCU for business banking, in particular to a start up!”
Supporting Local Businesses
As Teri continues to grow her business, she emphasizes the importance of supporting local enterprises. “We need to keep the spirit of small businesses alive,” she urges. “Diversity keeps things interesting, and it’s vital for our community’s character.”
